It is no surprise that the Tour de France will be visiting our area in 2027, a fact that has not been overlooked in our plans for a distinctly French flavour for next year.

For 2026, our ever-popular fund-raising sportive runs for the 11th time on Sunday 7th June 2026 and offers three totally new great routes - 25, 50 & 70 miles - through stunning scenery in the Ribble Valley and Forest of Bowland, .  All rides will have the assistance of three signed and marshalled routes with plenty of challenge and three feeding stations, all well stocked with snacks, gels, hydration and our famous home-made cakes. Riders can choose between standard food, vegetarian or gluten free options.

Organised jointly by the Rotary Clubs of Accrington and Clitheroe, the event starts and finishes in Clitheroe and caters for every type of cyclist whilst raising much-needed funds for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation and other Rotary supported charities.

The ride will again be part sponsored by Lancashire-based Ribble Cycles, who are backing the organising team to scale up the event and raise even more money for local charities. We are also sponsored by Heidelberg Materials, who provide the wonderful administration centre and excellent event parking facilities.

Once again our relaxed 25-miler run over a totally new route, is a family-friendly ride, with up to two under-16s allowed FREE with every two adult entries. The extensively revised 50-mile route explores the hills and valleys of the Forest of Bowland, while the 70-mile route for the Elite Group strays over the border into big hill country within North Yorkshire for challenging climbs and spectacular views.

Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, we managed to raise almost £6,000 for local charities last year and we hope we can improve on this stunning success in 2026.  We are one of the foremost cycle sportives in the North-West with a reputation for:

  • Fabulous routes to suit every ability
  • Legendary food stops
  • Friendly, efficient organisation
  • Downloadable photographs for all entrants
  • Great Start/Finish venue
  • and we hope much more!
