OL3D - Original Lakeland Three Day

OL3D - One Great Adventure.

A three day mountain adventure in the traditional, no frills, Mountain Marathon style. Two nights camping in different locations.  Leave no trace; cause no disturbance!

Based in the Lake District with Year One starting from Pooley Bridge.

OL3D is about getting out on the fells for three self supported days - moving through some of the best mountain country in Britain, carrying essentials for the day while your overnight kit is moved to the designated camp.

This is an event for all abilities and speeds, you can enter solo or run as a pair and choose from three courses; Short, Medium and Long. The shorter courses will have the simplest navigation and route choice with increasing ascent, and difficulty on the Medium course, and the most technical navigation on the Long Course. 

During each day you’ll be responsible for yourself. You’ll need to be comfortable navigating, looking after your own food and water, but you won’t need to carry three days’ worth of camping equipment.

Your overnight kit will be transported ahead to the next camp, allowing you to travel light during the day and concentrate on the mountains rather than the weight on your back.  At the end of each day, you’ll arrive at a new overnight location, find your kit, put your tent up and settle in. No fancy event village, just a good camp, good food, good company and the satisfaction of having spent another day in the hills.
