The North West Junior Squad welcome you all to the Lakes 5 Days Rest Day event which will be a fun score event on Birkrigg Common, near Ulverston, South Lakes. This is a fundraising event for the NWJS funds, which are used to support squad members with training and costs associated with selections.
There will be two courses, a 45 minute score and a 60 minute score, plan your own route between them all - how many controls will you find within the time limit?
Birkrigg Common is open very runnable fell, with a network of paths, interspersed with areas of bracken, gorse and limestone pavement (which can be slippery when wet).
Please note there is an entry limit of 300 for this event split evenly across both courses, this is due to availability of parking and numbers on the area. There will only be entry on the day, if the event is not full ahead of the closing date.

Everyone who attends must follow the ‘Participation Codes of Conduct’ which can be found at the British Orienteering website.
A quick reminder for newcomers: If you’re not currently a member of British Orienteering, you won’t be covered by the organisation’s public liability insurance for this event. You’re very welcome to take part, but please be aware that you do so at your own risk.
