Welcome to the LOC Cumbrian Galoppen event at Silver Howe, previously used for a Lakes 5 Day event in 2018. The usual range of Galoppen courses will be available from Yellow to Brown.
There will be a walk to the starts from Grasmere village - circa 2.5km, 200m climb, finish and clothing dump nearby. Parking will be in Grasmere Showfield - £5/car, please car share as much as possible.
Silver Howe, is a broad lumpy ridge at 400m with a wealth of rock and contour detail. The terrain is very runnable, patches of bracken, shown as green hatching on the map, are a severe impediment to progress and are best avoided.
