Back in Whinlatter forest we will be brining you our original Seat How route. Our events follows the same format and start at 9am with individual starts for each athlete so that all dogs have the space they need to start safely.
This is our original route to the summit of Seat How. On this route some sections are narrower and steeper, hence only one dog per runner and the dogs must be run on a suitable harness. Runners are welcome to compete without dogs.
There are two course options. The longer option is an 8K (5 mile) loop with 360m (1200ft) of ascent, reaching the summit of Seat How and then following forest roads and trails back to the visitors centre. There is a shorter option, which avoids Seat How, and joins up with the second half of the longer course. This is recommended for beginners or those seeking an easier route. It is 5K (3 miles) with 240m (800ft).
The event is chip timed and will be marked. GPX files are available to download too.
