The event HQ is at the Rafford Village Hall and the 30 mile challenge route is circular, starting Rafford, and walking on forestry tracks and the Dava Way to Forres, then along the Moray Coast paths and beaches to Roseisle access point. From here the walk goes south on country lanes to Heldon Hill via Alves Village Hall, then back to Rafford via forestry, country lanes and Califer Hill.
Timing has been planned around tide times to ensure that all walkers and runners can navigate safely to complete the route. Walkers will set off at 8am, but Runners and jog-walkers will start at 10am, so that we don't have to dramatically change the checkpoint opening times. There will be 2 manned checkpoints at Findhorn and Alves, with refreshments and drinks, including snacks. The opening and closing times have been planned to accommodate walkers and runners. A hot meal will be available for everyone at the Rafford Village Hall finish. Goody bags and Certificates will be available for all participants.
If you are travelling to the event by public transport, please let us know in the 'transport' section of the entry form so that we can arrange transfers from and back to Forres where rail and bus services are available.
Parking and space for tents will be available at Rafford Village Hall on the playing field. To help us plan, please let us know your requirements on the entry form.
A proportion of places will be open for non-LDWA members/runners.
