Castle Carr fell race

Classic, challenging route that passes through the stunning private estate of Castle Carr, and tours Midgley Moor, Warley Moor and Wadsworth Moor.
The race has some of everything: open moorland; extended climbs; good descents; and faster running sections.
This race has not been held for the last couple of years, but will take place for one final time in 2026.
Category AL: 24 km (15 miles) with 1200m (4000ft) of ascent/descent.
Sunday 4th October 2026 from Wadsworth Community Centre, Old Town, Hebden Bridge, HX7 8RY
Main start: 11am
Early start available at 10:30am for runners who would expect to be in the last 20% of the field.
The race is licensed by the FRA under UKA rules. It is therefore a non-GPS race.
You must carry:
- waterproof full body cover with hood and taped seams
- hat (buff is acceptable)
- gloves
- map of the route, suitable for navigating with
- compass (a proper one)
- whistle
- emergency food
Bring your kit to registration to be checked.
Please do not go through the private estate before or after race day.
