Calder Divide Trail

Join us on the 6th Calder Divide Trail weekend as we tackle the only route in the British Isles to trace the watershed of a river as we weave across ‘12 valleys, 6 moors and 1 floodplain’ in West Yorkshire on paths of gravel, peat and stone that were once trading routes for coal, salt and wool and have been part of the landscape for over 700 years.

KEY INFO:
Date - 18th - 19th September 2027
Routes - 100 miles (160km) to 155 miles (250km)
GPX files - All four gpx route files are sent to your email address a week before the event
Venue - Mytholmroyd Community Center (MYCC) is where riders sign on Saturday between 7.30am - 10.30am. Throughout the weekend there is access to changing rooms, first class showers, toilets.
Car park - The Event Hub has a large car park and registering your vehicle plate means you avoid the hefty parking fee. Vans can stay overnight in the MYCC Car Park on the Friday prior to the event.
Train - The hub is 2 minutes from Mytholmroyd train station on the main line between Leeds and Manchester.
Nutrition - Tea / coffee / juice / toast at the Event Hub in MYCC from 7.30am (Sunrise at 6.40am).
Tracker - Option to have a GPS tracker and let folks 'dot watch' your progress (choose this when you get into SiEntry)
Whats App group - Opens in May and is a good way for riders to ask questions and share info with each other.
RIDERS RECEIVE:
Pie n peas - On Sunday from 12 noon till 5pm hot pie n peas will be served in the event room at Mytholmroyd Community Centre (meat / vegan / gluten free) as well as tea / coffee / juice / breads n spreads
Badge - All riders who return to Mytholmroyd on the Sunday from 12 noon - 5pm will be awarded a cloth badge embroidered with the CDT logo. Three colours - black, gold and green - to represent the different trails.

THE DETAILS:
Luggage transfer - Go ‘traditional’ bikepacking and carry your own bivy/tent or select the luggage transfer option so your gear is moved by van from Event HQ up to and back from the camping village.
Camping village - All riders are welcome to pitch up at our camping village halfway round the trail on a working farm with a level grass field for your tent. Hot water urns, tables and chairs in the barn.
At the campsite we have a quiz in the barn at 8pm on Saturday. Its a social thing with multiple choice questions about bikes and the landscape. Sunday from 6am we have hot water urns tea, coffee, toast and porridge pots.
The campsite has two water taps, dry space to store your bike and portable toilets with sinks / cold running water that we hire for the weekend. No showers.
Artisan food van - There will be an artisan van serving five types of delicious pizza from 4pm till late
Capacity - Each of our last five CDT events sold out a month before the deadline
Register - From 7.30am on Saturday 18th September 2027
In aid of Overgate Hospice- The CDT began as a promise to a friend to 'do a big ride'. To date the event has raised over £14,500 to support our local hospice. In 2027 our commitment remains to raise enough funds to support the hospice for one day of care - target of £2000.
THE ROUTES:
Each route starts by taking you through the park in Hebden Bridge, up through the oak woods and then wave after wave of Pennine moor.
Gravel Routes: Washlands - 240km / 3,900m
Walsden - 150km / 2,550m
MTB Routes: Whirlaw Common - 232km / 3,830m
Withens Gate - 151km / 2,675m
Every rider is free to choose whichever route takes their fancy but two of the routes have trails selected for gravel bikes and two with trails selected for mountain bikes.
