Cumbrian Galoppen orienteering event at Cumbria Wildlife Trusts Eycott Hill, between Penrith and the Northern Fells.

Pre-entry available on all courses. For Yellow, Orange and Score courses there will be some entry on the day, subject to map availability (£10 senior, £4 junior, extra maps £1).

Brown                         9.2km, 300m
Blue                             6.1km, 165m
Green                          4.2km, 125m
Short Green              3.4km, 85m
Very Short Green    2.4km, 50m     **See note below
Light Green               3.4km, 70m

Yellow                         2.2km, 65m
Score                           60 minutes

**Very Short Green - this is the same course as Short Green but with a loop omitted. If you want to do Very Short Green, enter Short Green and pick up a Short Green map at the start. The map will show which controls to miss. You can decide while on the course whether to take the Very Short Green cut-off.

Which course should I choose?
Score - Those wanting a flexible challenge; a mix of harder and easier controls: You choose your route and how far you go; ensure you are back at the Finish by 60 minutes. 
Yellow - Newcomers, children and families – great for building experience and learning skills
Orange - Adult newcomers, or children and families with some experience, looking to extend their skills
Light Green - Orienteers with some existing experience who are fairly comfortable using a compass and confident away from paths and line features
(Very) Short Green - Experienced orienteers wanting the highest level navigational challenge, over a shorter distance
Green / Blue / Brown - Experienced orienteers wanting the highest level of navigational and physical challenge

Map
1:7,500. 5m contours.  Blue and Brown will be double-sided.

Groups and Pairs / Extra Maps 
If you are new to orienteering and would like to go round as a group or in a pair, just enter one person and use the option to select any additional maps that your group would like at £1 each.

Dibber Hire
Available by pre-order at no charge, £30 if not returned. To pre-order, leave the SI number blank during entry process, and then collect dibber from Enquiries/Download on the day.

Start and Finish
Start between 10:30 and 12:30.  Start: 200m with 20m descent to the start, on a grassy track.  Finish: approximately 700m, 30m ascent back to Registration/Download, also on a grassy track.

Not allowed on any of the courses.

Entry Cancellation / Change
If you are unable to make the event please let us know via the email address.  If we are informed by the closing date we will provide a refund less £1 per person to cover admin costs. Before the closing date you can change your course by editing your entry online, but there will be no changes of course on the day.
