As a former sand quarry Bawsey CP offers an orienteering challenge rarely seen across East Anglia; short and severe hills, steep gullies, cliffs, deciduous woodland, and open swathes of soft sand. Although small in size the park has a wide variety of terrain and an intricate network of paths which should encourage fast running between controls with key decisions to be made between taking direct but often steep routes, or more circuitous yet faster running paths.
Full leg cover will be required.
Map: Scale 1:5000. Contour interval 5m. Printed on waterproof paper. Control descriptions will be text for White and Yellow courses; Orange will have text and pictorial symbols descriptions while all other courses use standard IOF pictorial descriptions which will be on the map.
These will be available at the start loose and are printed on maps.
