Course Information
Final course lengths and details will be posted on the BASOC website.
- TD2 - Yellow. 1.5km. Relatively easy, shorter course. All controls on line features e.g. paths, fences. NOT suitable for buggies. Ideal for novice and younger orienteers.
- TD3 - Orange. 2.3km. Moderate technical difficulty but longer, for those wanting to go further. Controls close to line features. Requires some familiarity with maps.
- TD4 - Light Green, 4.2km. Suitable for experienced map readers. Routes between controls across terrain, controls may be away from line features.
- TD5 - Green - 5.3km. Suitable for experienced orienteers.
All courses have pre-printed maps.
There will be some getting started guidance for newcomers, novices, or those who want a refresher.
Directions / Parking
Registration, Map Collection, & Download will be Boat of Garten Community Hall. The Start and Finish will be close by.
There is no dedicated event parking. There is some parking at the hall, otherwise please park considerately in the village in line with any parking restrictions.
Timings
- Registration from 10:45
- Starts from 11:00-1200 (no allocated start times, just turn up and go)
- Courses close 13:30
Entries
Entries for the courses will close at 23:30 on Wednesday 14th October, 2026.
It is preferable if participants can enter via Si-Entries. For non-orienteers or others who may not be able to enter via Si-Entries maps can be reserved by email to [email protected]
Map orders will be sent on Thursday 15th October. Any late entries will be at an additional cost and subject to map availability.
Safety Notes
Orienteering is an adventure sport and you take part at your own risk. There are slips and trips hazards in the area. There are some marsh areas which may be deep depending on the weather prior to the event.
There will be walkers, cyclists, dog walkers, and other people around in the event area, please be aware and considerate of others.
