12th Kirroughtree Hillbilly MTB Duathlon

The Kirroughtree Hillbilly Duathlon consists of a 10km run followed by an 18km mountain bike around the flowing trails of the Galloway Forest Park in South West Scotland.
The run follows walkers paths and forest road, with the mountain bike route sticking to the Seven Stanes Red route. (The Twister).
The start, transition and finish will be at the Kirroughtree Visitor Centre. All routes will be signed, supported by marshals with radio coverage and mobile first aid. Chip timing with split run bike times.
Team options:
Solo male/female, or team of two - male/female/mixed (one runner and one biker).
Long Course Categories:
Male / Female Solos, Teams- Male / Female & Mixed
- Senior/Open
- Veteran/40+
- Grand Veteran/50+
- Super Veteran/60+
- E-bikes are only allowed in Long & Short pairs categories, Male Open, Female Open & Mixed Open
- E-bike (E-bikes must comply with UK EAPC law , have a maximum power output of 250watts and maximum speed of 15.5mph,) we rely on riders integrity to adhere to these rules. any rider failing to adhere will be disqualified
Senior Route:
RETURNING AGAIN FOR 2026
Duathlon short course, which is a 5km run, same as previous years, followed by a totally NEW completely Blue graded route ( 9.36km bike ride ) consisting mainly of fire road and 4 blue graded bike trails , this will run at the same time as the main Event
Short Course Categories - Male/female solos and teams Male/female and mixed:
- under 16- 21
- Under 40
- Over 40
- E-Bikes are only allowed in the pair Categories
- E-bike (E-bikes must comply with UK EAPC law , have a maximum power output of 250watts and maximum speed of 15.5mph,) we rely on riders integrity to adhere to these rules. any rider failing to adhere will be disqualified
Short Course Route:
Entrants wishing to withdraw must inform the organiser by email. Entry fees will be refunded as follows. Up to one month before the event date, cost of entry minus £5. Within one month of the event date no refunds available. Transfer of entry is available within the month before the event date. This must be done by email.
Entrants must be aged 16 or over. Entries on the day will not be accepted.
Registration opens at 9am Race start 11am. Plan to be registered by 10.30.
