The Staveley 3 Valleys Challenge (formerly The Sam Houghton Mountain Bike Challenge) is a timed charity mountain bike ride starting and finishing at the Mill Yard, Staveley and covering the Longsleddale, Kentmere & Troutbeck Valleys and taking in Garburn Pass.
Originally organised in memory of Sam Houghton, the event has raised over £200,000 for Cancer Research UK.
All proceeds from this year's event will again be donated to charity. The event continues to support Cancer Research UK (receiving 90% of the proceeds) and, post-pandemic we are also supporting worthy charities and good causes in Staveley (receiving 10% of the proceeds).
Everything else is staying the same - same challenging mountain bike routes, same friendly marshals, same great check-point cakes, same well earned party at the end!
Entries are available for both the long and short course for the following categories (also available to riders using electric mountain bikes):
In addition, the following category is available for the short course:
All entries include a free post-race meal courtesy of Wilf's Cafe, plus entry to the event after-party in the Hawkshead Beer Hall!!
Should you wish to make an additional donation to the event, this can be done during the entry process; if you are a UK taxpayer donations via this system can be Gift Aided to give maximum benefit to Cancer Research UK. Alternatively, visit our JustGiving page to see how our fundraising is going!
