About the route

The Chalkland Way Ultra is a 43 mile circular waymarked route through the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds, starting and ending in the centre of Pocklington and incorporates the very popular Chalkland Way.

The undulating landscape is challenging and with steep climbs in a few places places. It would be perfect for anyone with previous ultra-marathon experience, or a fantastic first time ultra if you have a good level of fitness and are looking for something challenging.

Event highlights

  • 43 miles / 68 km.
  • 3904 ft / 1190 m ascend.
  • 14 hours cut off.
  • Free parking at registration.

Checkpoints

  • 4 in total.
  • All food and drink will be vegan friendly and gluten free.
  • 1 checkpoint will be indoors.
  • Indoor checkpoint will have a non-returnable food drop bag option.
  • All checkpoints will have sanitary products.

We are proud to work with Trees Not Tees to give you the choice to plant a tree instead of receiving a T-shirt. You can also opt to plant a tree and receive a T-shirt for an additional cost.

Podium finishers will also receive

  • Hand crafted award depicting a swan, using reclaimed pallets, made by Etched on the Wolds based in Wilberfoss.

Supporting local charities

5% of your entry will go towards supporting local charities. We will also make a donation to each volunteer that helps on the day.

Incusivity

Our aim is to be balanced and to open up our events to as many people as possible. We have put together a policy to summarise how we try to be inclusive. Transfers

We allow you to transfer your place to someone else yourself via SI Entries up to 4 weeks before the event takes place; in case you can no longer take part due to a change in circumstances.
