DARTMOOR WAY GRANITE 50

Now in it's 2nd year.... A 50 mile race to compliment the Dartmoor Way Full Circle 100 mile event. The DW Granite 50 skirts the western section of the Moor and crosses several sections of open moorland.

The race begins in Scorriton, near Buckfastleigh, on western flank of the Moor and follows the Dartmoor Way Walking Route, heading East towards Ashburton, Haytor, Chagford and then onwards to the finish in Okehampton.

The Dartmoor Way 50, is a tough challenge. It’s 51 miles and although just over half the distance of the 100, it’s a serious undertaking. The DW50 is not an easy race at all.. It’s not a walk in the park. It’s a long run in the National Park..! It is the equivalent of running two marathons, over sometimes quite rugged terrain in parts and with over 2000 metres of ascent.

Experience of running trail marathons is a minimum requirement for this event.

Race Start time of 8am from Scorriton, the south of the Moor (near Buckfastleigh TQ11 0JB). There is a maximum time allowance of 16 hours. The finish is from the OCRA Pavilion in the Park, Mill Road, Okehampton, Devon, EX20 1GE (Event HQ).

Bus transfer option is also available and leaves Okehampton at 6am to arrive at Scorriton Village Hall for 07:30ama.

Over 2000m of ascent with 3 full checkpoints offering hot food/drinks and refreshments.

Changing/shower facilities on site at and also bar and hot meals throughout the weekend.

GPX Files will be available to download, map with pre-marked route.

Bespoke trophies to First, Second and Third male and females.
