Light up your Santa suit!

We are asking all Santas to light themselves up with festive lighting on the day to create a spectacle of festive light around Barrow town centre.

Who can take part?

Everyone! You can run, jog or walk the route dressed in your Santa suit. This isn’t a race, so you can do it at your own pace and enjoy the live music and entertainment on your way round the course.

What should I wear?

A  Santa Suit of course - they can be picked up from St Mary’s Hospice shops in Dalton and Ulverston and from the St Mary’s Hospice Furniture Warehouse in Barrow.

What else is happening on the day?

The Barrow Santa Dash will be part of a day of events organised by Barrow BID and Furness Rotary, which will include live music, entertainment and festive fun in the town centre from 12 noon. Participants of the Santa Dash will be entertained around the course by live musicians and street entertainers.

Fundraising

Sponsorship will be by a downloadable  sponsor form on our website or you can make a donation when you register. The principle benefactor is St Mary's Hospice with a small amount also to rotary charities.

How am I helping St Mary’s Hospice?

St Mary’s was born from the belief that no one should face a life limiting illness on their own. . It costs over £3.5 million a year to keep our hospice running, with 17% of our funding from the NHS - the rest comes directly from our community. We simply could not exist without people like you.

Despite the difficulties of the past 18 months, St Mary‘s Hospice is still ideally positioned to meet the needs of all patients and their families across South Cumbria thanks to our dedicated team of staff and volunteers and generous supporters across the community. We were able to respond and adapt to the immediate difficulties caused by a global pandemic on our local area, and we are striving to keep making a difference when it matters most in an ever changing and challenging time. Your donation means we can continue to move forward, so please accept our thanks on behalf of all the people who will receive our care and kindness. Every penny you raise at this year’s Santa Dash will ensure we are able to keep making a difference when it matters most.
