Info: New entries for this event closed on Monday 15th November 2021.
LOC Night Urban Event – Dalton-in-Furness is a newly extended map. Town centre and residential streets.
This year’s night urban series is a mix of traditional & MapRun races. The traditional races take place on alternate Wednesday evenings using SI Timing and small control kites. A total of 8 races with 5 to count in the series.
Runners at night must wear some reflective garment & carry a torch (head-torches are preferable). Runners under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times whilst out on a course.
We encourage running in pairs, this is a must for under 16s (with an adult) but adults can also do this, it is good way to start orienteering particularly at night. Just enter either as the junior for the junior/parent pair or one adult as the adult pair. Email your partner name to firstname.lastname@example.org and state if you want an extra map (£1 payable on the night).
The Short course will be a cut off from the Long course.
The details are available on the LOC website at ‘Events | Lakeland Orienteering Club (lakeland-orienteering.org.uk)’.
Entries will be limited to 60 per course and will be taken for start windows between 1730-1800 and 1800-1830.
There will be no entries on the day, there will be hired dibbers available at the event.
Everyone who attends must follow the ‘Participation Codes of Conduct’ which can be found at the British Orienteering website.
