The Mayflyer sportive has been running for over 20 years and there is a choice of two challenging routes, both fully road marked. The Flyer 90km route meanders around the North Downs while the 162km Flyer Challenge crosses the North Downs on the way to Amberley in Sussex before returning along a different set of mainly country lanes. Both rides are challenging and the routes cross the picturesque climbs of Staple Lane, Coombe Bottom, and Pitch Hill, and follow the beautiful, quiet, country lanes of Surrey and West Sussex.

Both routes start and finish from Cobham Village Hall, Lushington Dr, Cobham KT11 2LU

We encourage cyclists, where practicable, to take public transport to the event or cycle. There is, however, plentiful car parking space at Holly Hedge car park just around the corner – it's huge and usually empty and there is no parking charge on Sundays.

Sign on from 0800, with a rolling start from 0830 in small groups of 20 riders. The latest time that riders can set off is 0930.

Entries are limited to 500 riders.

There will be a timing chip check at the start and finish.

Refreshments will be available at two feed stations and at the beginning and end of the event. There will be sandwiches, home made cakes and hot drinks, and catering for gluten free, vegetarian and vegan diets. There is mechanical backup around the course, and there will be a SAG wagon to pick up any riders as necessary.

Both routes will be fully marked with arrows on the tarmac, together with our traditional distinctive yellow sign boards. Emergency contact details will be sent to all riders by e-mail in advance of the event. Cyclists are strongly reminded that they are responsible for their own and other cyclists' safety at all times. Please remember this is not a race, but riders completing for their own satisfaction regards time.

The provisional routes have been devised but are subject to change and final details will be sent out a week before the event. However, the provisional routes can be viewed and downloaded here:
