The Goathland V (5) Trig Pairs Challenge for runners & walkers.
Starting from the Village Hall in the beautiful setting of Goathland,in The North Yorkshire Moors National Park, the home of the popular Police drama Heartbeat which was filmed there for many years.
Pairs of runners or walkers will navigate themselves around a course of circa 35 miles visiting five listed structures otherwise known as Triangulation Pillars.
The route is one of your own choosing as long as public rights of way are used and the Triangulation Pillars are visited in the order given to you on the morning of the event .
Be assured any route that you choose will have a variety of terrain, stunning views and hills aplenty.
Participants will need to be self supported however there will be CP locations providing some snacks and drinks.
Participants should be competent with map and compass, this is a challenge for the individual pairs taking part so there are no support crews,support runners /walkers allowed. Pairs must both go to each CP.and complete the full course together.

This is the bare minimum that should be carried, the weather can still be a force to be reckoned with on the NYM in April.
All participants will sign to say they are carrying the correct kit. There will be spot checks along the way.
Walkers and runners will have 15 hrs to complete the challenge.
Registration will be from 07:30 am at Goathland Village Hall with walking pairs starting at 8 am and running pairs at 9am.
Participants should be aware that they may have to finish the challenge in the dark.
Entry cost is £50 per pair and is limited to 50 pairs.
All finishers will receive a memento and a cloth badge.
There will also be a hot meal at the end.
