This is a new trail race for 2021. Starting from Mount Hawke cricket club at 11am the race takes in some coast path around Chapel Porth and back towards Porthtowan before a loop around Tywarnhayle mine.
This is the first time we've put the race on, so as a test we are limiting numbers to 100 this year.
The race route has been in the planning for 5 years! It can be found on Strava here: https://www.strava.com/routes/2853117112395182616 or on OS maps here: https://osmaps.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/.../tywarnhayle-10k These are all footpaths that are generally open (although we need to do some clearing on some of it) so feel free to recce it.
It's not for the faint hearted - there are some technical descents, lots of mud, and a bit of river to run up - but the views will be worth it if you are brave enough not to concentrate onwhere you are putting your feet!
There is a small section of Coast Path in the race and we are pleased to say we are a "Coast Path Friendly Event" - £1 from all entries will go to the South West Coast Path Association and be put towards maintenance of the path.
There will be a full runners briefing coming out by email the week before the race. Please also monitor our facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/368870051300123) for updates.
