Located in the Silverdale and Arnside Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty this undulating 18 mile route is eminently runnable and is a perfect introduction to distance trail running or walking.
It doesn't have any major climbs, but this 18 mile circular route does include hills, coastal paths and varied trails, taking in many of the local attractions... including Arnside Tower, Fairy Steps, Arnside Knott and Dallam Deer Park. This route incorporates many of the same sections of trail as Silverdale Circuit, but are done in reverse so it works as a standalone event or in addition to the existing route... it's incredible how different it feels by going the other way! Starting from Milnthorpe Cricket Club, the location has easy access from the M6 and is at low level so is ideal for a November event.
Included in race entry fee is a comprehensive route description, timing, fully stocked check point with a wide variety of provisions, hot meal for participants and a bespoke medal for all finishers.
Please note we may enforce a mandatory kit list dependant on weather forecast but you should be prepared to carry:
- Full body waterproof cover
- Minimum 500ml of water
- Portable cup for drinks
- Whistle
- Head-torch
- Map & compass (and know how to use them as this a self-navigated route)
We will have 2 start times, 8:30 for walkers and 9:30 for runners. Everyone should be finished by 16:00 but we won't enforce this cut-off strictly.
