The Grand Tour of Skiddaw is an approximately 44 mile fully waymarked ultra trail race taking in the beautiful scenery of the Northern Lake District. The race starts and finishes at Lime House School, Holm Hill, Dalston, Cumbria, CA5 7BX on the 28th August 2021 at 08:00.
The route is almost entirely run on public footpaths and bridleways, taking in a climb up the mighty Skiddaw at the approximate halfway point giving a total of 7136 feet of ascent.
The Grand Tour of Skiddaw is a qualifying race for the UTMB® with 3 points.
The route is fully waymarked, a map of the route is provided and the gpx file is available to download.
All competitors will receive the event technical vest or t shirt (the option to opt out of a vest/tee is available during Registration, where the entrant donates the cost of their vest/tee to their chosen charity), bespoke medal, free beer from the event 'pub', The Stagger Inn, free event photographs and all food and drink at the 4 Checkpoints along the route, plus a hot meal at the Finish.
All competitors will be provided with a mandatory tracker.
Showers are available at the finish.
Parking is free for competitors on event day plus we have camping available @ £5 per tent/camper van per competitor per night for Friday and Saturday at the Start/Finish venue of Lime House School. The camping is pre bookable and paid in advance during the entry process (please note that the camping area is not suitable for caravans).
Prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male and Female Solos and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Pairs plus a few spot prizes. The prizes will be presented by the fell running legend Billy Bland at the prize presentation and Q&A with Billy on Sunday 29th August.

The Grand Tour of Skiddaw will follow the current UK Government guidelines re Covid 19, in effect at the time of the event. If the event cannot be held safely and responsibly then all entrants will be given the option to defer to 2022 or be offered a refund minus the 7% admin fee.
