The Pendle Way In A Day - A Winter Ultra in East Lancashire - is a waymarked trail challenge in the gritty yet beautiful trails and moorlands of the South Pennines.

A full circular of the Pendle Way of approximately 45miles with 6100ft ascent (68km, 1870m) and an alternative option of approximately 30miles (4500ft // 48km, 1382m) open to both Runners and Walkers.

The Pendle Way In A Day route takes in the villages of Pendle in East Lancashire along the footpaths and bridleways in the picturesque moorlands of the local countryside. The route is fully waymarked with the infamous Pendle Witch although a full map, GPX files and Written Instructions will be provided.

Starting at the Pendle Heritage Centre at Barrowford you'll head through Blacko, to Barnoldswick via Weets Hill, Earby, Laneshawbridge, Wycoller, Boulsworth Bottoms, Catlow Bottoms, Higham, Newchurch and take in a climb up Pendle Hill. The alternative route option will take a modified route of the Pendle Way to Laneshawbridge, then follow the Pendle Way in full.

All from the gorgeous Pendle Heritage Centre Barn, Barrowford, BB9 6JQ.
Parking is available close by to the Heritage Centre.

The Challenge: Overall cut off time at Finish is Midnight for all routes.

Kit and other info:
This is a Winter Ultra Event - All entrants are advised to wear appropriate clothing for winter conditions and required to carry full body waterproof cover, map (see below), headtorch & spare batteries, compass, whistle, mug and fully-charged mobile phone. Appropriate footwear (fell/trail) MUST be worn. A map of route OS 1:25k will be available but OL21 is also recommended.

This is a tough challenge event with some navigational ability required and an amount of climbing, therefore not suitable for beginners.
Minimum entrant age 18 years old.
