'Having sold out in 2019 and created a time trial event during COVID-19 in September 2020, we are back for a 5th year.... RACE THE TIDE is in the glorious setting of the Flete Estate, Mothecombe, Devon we are hosting 3 races that cater for runners of all distances. 

To Race The Tide successfully you need to run an average of 4mph :-

• a predominately Woodland Trail of 8.5 miles on the private Flete Estate, racing the tide at 7 miles, with 2 aid Stations
• a 15.5 mile LONG half-marathon racing the tide at 7 miles, with 5 aid Stations 
• a LONG marathon of 28.5 miles racing the tide at 20 miles, with 7 aid Stations 

The courses combine to provide a mixture of private footpaths beside the quiet estuary, bridle paths, coastal paths, quiet country fields. 

The Marathon was in the Top 7 Spring Marathons to enter for 2020. It includes running along Bigbury beach and across the causeway to Burgh Island, made famous by Agatha Christie as she wrote two books while staying on the island. 

Start times:-
11:30 - LONG Marathon
2:30pm - LONG Half-Marathon
2:30pm - Woodland Trail

All courses will be fully marked, marshalled by runners and have well stocked aid stations.

Free parking (usually £5.00 per day)

First Aid on course and at HQ. 

Dogs are not permitted with runners during the race.
