Comparatively low level, this undlualting course is eminently runnable, but don’t let that fool you, it is still a challenging route and should be treated with respect. The location has easy access from the M6 and is at low level so is ideal for a February race.

Starting from Milnthorpe this stunning 21 mile route will take you to places that even many locals don't get to see. You will pass through Dalham Deer Park, where you would be very unlucky not to see some of the resident fallow deer and the impressive Leighton Hall. Onwards to Leighton Moss Nature Reserve where you could spot a hunting peregrine falcon before passing Hawes Water and making your way to a fantastic technical single track along the stunning coastline. An ascent of Arnside Knott follows before an opportunity to climb the Fairy Steps where you will have a wish granted if you reach the top without touching the sides. If this doesn't sound magical enough for you then the highest points offer outstanding views of Morecambe Bay and The Lakes.

Included in race entry fee is a comprehensive route description, timing, fully stocked check points with a variety of provisions, a hot meal at the end & a bespoke medal for all finishers. Start time is 8.30am for all walkers & runners start at 9.30am.

Please note we may enforce a mandatory kit list dependant on weather forecast but you should be prepared to carry: full body waterproof cover, minimum 500ml of water, portable cup for drinks, whistle, head-torch, map & compass (and know how to use them) as this a self-navigated route. Route description and GPX files are available for download on our website.
