The Bantry Bay Adventure Race is back for 2019!

Join us on Saturday August 31st 2019 in Bantry, Co. Cork, to tackle Ireland's stunning coastal terrain.

The event will bring participants from West Cork's Whiddy Island across Bantry Bay to the Sheep's Head peninsula in a 3-leg event that will include a run (5k), kayak (1500m approx.), and cycle (22.8k approx.).

Test yourself against West Cork's landscapes and this world-famous bay as an individual participant, or join with friends to form a relay team. This is an exciting challenge for anyone who wants to get active on Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way.

The double kayak section of the course means that this is a test of teamwork as well as of individual ability.

The Adventure Race makes the most of the Bantry Bay Blueway adventure route and the Sheep's Head's walking and cycling trails. BBAR 2019 is an amazing opportunity for you to experience some of the most scenic places in West Cork. Don't miss out on the limited places on offer.

Solo competitors can choose between 8.30am and 9.30am start waves. All relay teams must start at 9.30am.

Run on Whiddy Island, kayak Bantry's famous bay, and cycle out along the Sheep’s Head peninsula before returning to Bantry for a hero's welcome!

Bantry Bay Adventure Race is a unique challenge and a great way of raising funds for three important organisations that support local communites: Special Olympics Team (Bantry), Bantry Inshore Rescue Association and The Jack and Jill Childrens Foundation.

Please note there is a strict age restriction: all participants must be aged 18 or over.
