Ennerdale Trail Run "Wild, Water, Forest & Mountains"
Distance: 25k & 10k courses
Venue: Ennerdale Scout Centre, Ennerdale Bridge, Cumbria, CA23 3AR (GR NY 087 155).
Ennerdale is a a remote valley on the western fringes of the Lake District National Park. A truly spectacular location for trail running with a fantastic combination of trails in a unique natural environment. It is surrounded by some of the Lake Districts most iconic mountains; Great Gable, Pillar and Haystacks, providing a natural backdrop full of dramatic ridges and wooded slopes. Ranging from singletrack lakeshore trails through woodland and into forest, the varied terrain offers a diverse and exciting course to runners.
10km route: A spectacular low level lakeshore route around Ennerdale Water. The trail offers stunning views looking into the wild valley across to the fells of Great Gable, Pillar and Steeple.
25Km route: An extended circuit of the 10Km route around Ennerdale Water venturing further into the remote valley. Staying low level the route follows forested trails alongside the river Liza beneath the stunning backdrop of Pillar Rock, eventually rejoining the 10k route finishing along the shores of Ennerdale.
Entries: Minimum entry age 17 years old.
Event includes: A unique commemorative medal & branded multi functional headwear, hydration stations, sports nutrition, well marked routes, event photography, refreshments at finish, free parking, showers and changing.
