Oldhamstocks Flower Show Hill Run / Walk

The Oldhamstocks Flower Show Hill run route is 6.5km long with around 200m of climb.  The aim is to have the run take an average speed runner about 50 minutes (the fastest time in 2013 was 26:10).  The route is beautiful and follows a circular route from and back to the church at Oldhamstocks.

Location Close to Dunbar use postcode TD13 5XN

Start time is 12.00noon The Start is opposite the church in Oldhamstocks, very close to the village hall.

The event is open to runners aged 15 years or over on the day of the race.  Under 18’s must have parental consent.

Race Numbers will be issued from 10:30 on the day of the race at Registration at Oldhamstocks Village Hall. Runners must collect their Race Number no later than 11:55. Race Numbers are not exchangeable and no-one will be allowed to run without one.

Health and Safety
Route maps will be posted at Registration. The route will be marked with tape and where necessary large black arrows on a yellow background will show deviations from the track. The majority of the route is on a rough track.  The start and finish are on a minor road.  One section of the route is steep.  Key gates will be marshalled.  All the organisers are volunteers, be kind to them.  If you retire from the race please tell the finishers before you head home.

Prizes will be awarded on the day to the first three finishers, Men and Women and Junior - under 18.  The flower show opens at 1330 so we hope that runners will stay to have a look at the exhibits and have some lunch.  Full results will be available on the Oldhamstocks Village website.  The overall winner will receive the Ross Thompson Memorial Trophy.

Car parking is available along the sides of the road coming into the village. Toilet facilities are available in the village hall and also portaloo’s just outside it.  Both are close to the start.  There are no shower facilities.  There will not be any water stations on the course.
