The race encapsulates the following:

An Open 100km/50k measured road race, incorporating both British and Scottish National 100k/50k road championship.  This race can be competed by any runner, of any ability who can meet the time limits (13.1 minutes/km for the 50km and 7.4 minutes/km for the 100km race) and experience requirements of the race.

The 100k race incorpates the annual Anglo Celtic Plate home countries event. Competed by Nationally selected athletes from England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland.

The 50km (31.1 miles) to our knowledge, 1 of only 2 certified accurate 100km road event in 2017. It is an ideal test for anyone wanting to attempt his or her first ultra and is also a perfect distance for a measure of your current fitness levels for longer races you plan or may have entered.

The 100km is, to our knowledge, 1 of only 2 certified accurate 100km road event in 2017.  It is a perfect opportunity for experienced ultra runners and marathoners to challenge themselves over the internationally recognised distance of 100km.  It is also an ideal event if you are aiming for a longer 100-mile ultra later in the summer.

Race start time:

100km 7:30am (13 hour limit).
50km  9:30am (10 hour limit).

Saturday: 4pm - 9pm  50/100km.

 Sunday  6am - 7:00am 100km
               8am - 9am       50km

Experience requirement:

50km – It is recommended that you have as a minimum trained/raced at high mileage volume for the event or in the past.  Its an ideal first Ultra and open to anybody but we would recommend that the minimum mileage to train for this event is 40 miles a week training over 10 weeks.

100km  The minimum experience is that runners have completed at least 1 road/trail marathon or above in the last 18 months.  When you enter you will be asked for information to evidence this (Date and name of race).

50km Wheelchair Race:

Please note:

  • Start, finish and laps are on grass.  There is a low ramp on and off the grass to negotiate.
  • There are speed bumps in the park.
  • The turn round is an on the spot at a cone which will slow you down to a virtual stop due to the narrowness of that point.
