Can be done solo, in a pair, or as a group of 3 or more. Each participant needs to put in an individual entry EXCEPT accompanied youngsters under 18 who go for FREE (when accompanied by a paying adult who must be 21+). Juniors aged 16 and above can run/walk alone with parental permission - in this case they need their own individual entry at the standard adult rate. Individual entrants aged 16-25 are invited to use the discretionary young adult discount code Spunch25 when entering if they are on low or zero income. This will provide a 25% discount on the applicable entry fee. A waterproof map of the course is provided to ALL participants. Please enter early for the best rates and to help with planning for maps, parking, event officials and catering. |

Spunch! Is a big sporty treasure hunt with a difference - A fun, friendly & safe mini-adventure with a unique & colourful map. Suitable for all ages & abilities - no previous experience required. Locals and newcomers always welcome. Run or walk. 2k to 22k, the choice is yours! 60, 90 and 120 min course duration

The event is open to all and we are delighted to be staging this one from Northenden Untapped with support from Northenden Runners
Visit as many checkpoints as you can in the time available, Satellite punching using the MapRun app on your smartphone, Garmin or Apple Watch. With over 60 SpunchPoints to go for - how many will you bag?
For runners, walkers, friends & families. Go solo, pair or in a group of 3 or more. We can usually pair you up on the night if you prefer not to go alone. Lots of help available for newbies. Dogs are welcome too, but must be kept on a lead and under control at all times.
On-site Registration opens at 5pm and you can start anytime from 5pm to 730pm. (Last start for 90 min course 715pm. Last start for 120 min course 645pm). One of our late summer sunset series - early starters will get the benefit of a mostly daylight run. Sunset about 7pm, dark from about 730pm. Hi-vis & torch required if you intend to be still out after sunset.
Final details and the MapRun course are usually published to all entrants on the day before the event.

A first Spunch visit to Untapped in Northenden. The venue will provide a warm welcome with a wide selection of drinks available. This cosy venue is adjacent to at least 3 highly rated take-aways and food can be consumed in the bar. The Crown Inn is just a minute up the road in the event that we need to overflow from Untapped!
Parking, Registration, Help, Bag Drop, Loos, Start, Finish, Results, Food & Drink all at or very near the venue.
Arriving by public transport: The venue is handy for bus routes 41, 43 & 103.
Getting there by car: Just 5 mins from the M56 / M60 interchange junctions. Very convenient for anywhere with easy access to the M60 & M56.
The Area & Course
Along with Northenden itself the course is likely to extend west and north, allowing you to explore Wythenshawe Park and Chorlton Water Park and the green corridors between. Not a hilly one this and about 50/50 urban/green space. A mixture of underfoot conditions from tarmac to off-road trails*. There will be something for everyone and even locals will likely discover new paths and places!
