This mountain bike orienteering event is set in the South Downs National Park near Winchester. The riding area is around the western end of the South Downs Way and promises some superb landscapes. On return to the farm and cafe, refreshments will be provided and you can compare your route choices with other riders. Camping is available at the farm which is ideally placed for making a weekend of the fantastic riding opportunities in the area.
The event is open to anyone (age 12+) from experts to those looking for some exercise in the countryside. It's the fifth of six that make up the SLOW 2025/26 Series. It also counts towards the BMBO National League of 40-50 events.
You’ll be given a marked up OS A3 waterproof map and have 2 or 3 hours to plan your own route and visit as many checkpoints as possible. You can enter as a solo, pair or family team.
To participate you will need the MapRun App on your iPhone or Android phone. A link to download the course will be sent shortly before the event. The PIN code will be given at the start. It's important not to enter the PIN code until you are ready to go as your time will start as soon as you do so.
If you're new to orienteering and don't have a map board you can borrow a basic one to attach to your bike.
Events are run by SLOW MBO and other regional clubs following the framework and rules provided by the BMBO. No membership of SLOW MBO is necessary but a current 2026 BMBO membership is preferred. Please sign up or renew your membership (an annual Day Rider membership is free).
