Coleraine Campus 5k (NI&U Championship)

The 2026 Coleraine Campus 5k, on Ulster University's site on Cromore Road, will host the 2026 NI & Ulster 5k Road Championship in association with Athletics Northern Ireland.
There will be a Junior Mile Fun Run to open proceedings, before three 5k races that participants will enter based on their predicted finish times. The first race will be for those with a predicted finish time of 22 minutes or greater. The second race is suitable for runners with a predicted finish time between 18 and 22 minutes. While the final race of the evening will be the elite race, and suitable for those who can run sub 18 minutes for a 5k.

- 19:00 - Race 1: 5k 22+ mins
- 19:45 - Race 2: 5k 18-22 mins
- 20:15 - Race 3: 5k Elite Sub 18 mins

- The course is entirely within the grounds of the Ulster University Campus and consists of just under 4 laps of the main campus road loop.
- The majority of the course will be on a closed single carriageway of the road loop.
- The start area will be on a section of the road loop that will be completely closed to traffic for the evening, therefore the full road width in this area is part of the course.
- The finish chute and finish area will be on sections of the road loop that will be completely closed to traffic for the evening i.e both sides of the road will be traffic free.

- Races 1* (22 mins+):
- 1st Male & Female: £40
- 2nd Male & Female: £35
- 3rd Male and Female: £30
- Race 2* (18-22 mins):
- 1st Male & Female: £40
- 2nd Male & Female: £35
- 3rd Male and Female: £30
- Race 3 (Elite Sub 18 mins):
- 1st Male & Female: £200
- 2nd Male & Female: £150
- 3rd Male & Female: £100
- Age Category:
- 1st Male & Female per Age Category: £30
- 2nd Male & Female per Age Category: £20
- Will be awarded to the fastest and second fastest male and female per age category on the night i.e fastest time when race results from the 3 races are combined.
- V35, V40, V45, V50, V55, V60 & V65
- Course Record:
- There will be a reward of £250 for any male or female competitor who sets a new course record on the night, sponsored by Mallon & Co.

* To be eligible for podium cash prizes in Races 1 & 2 an athlete must not run more than 30 seconds faster than the advertised quickest target time for that race, i.e. in Race 1 an athlete running 21:31 will be eligible for podium prizes in that race, whereas an athlete running 21:29 in the same race would not be eligible for podium prizes. However, all athletes will be eligible for the age category prizes no matter which of the races they enter.
