The event HQ is at the Rafford Village Hall and the 50 mile challenge route is circular, starting Rafford, and walking on forestry tracks and the Dava Way  to  Forres, then heading along the Moray Coast paths and beaches to Lossiemouth.  From here the walk goes inland to Elgin on old railway line, then back to Forres via forestry, country lanes and Heldon and Califer Hills.

Timing has been planned to accommodate the tides and to ensure that all walkers and runners will be required to navigate some sections at night. Walkers will set off at 8am, but Runners and jog-walkers will start at 10am, so that we don't have to dramatically change the checkpoint opening times. There will be 5 manned checkpoints at Findhorn, Burghead, Lossiemouth, Elgin and Miltonduff, with refreshments and drinks, including a hot meal at the halfway stage.  The opening and closing times have been planned to accommodate walkers and runners.  Breakfast will be available for everyone at the finish.   Goody bags and Certificates will be available for all participants.

If you are travelling to the event by public transport, please let us know in the 'transport' section of the entry form so that we can arrange transfers from and back to Forres where rail and bus services are available.

Parking and space for tents will be available at Rafford Village Hall on the playing field. To help us plan, please let us know your requirements on the entry form.

The Laich o’ Moray 50 is a qualifying event for the LDWA annual 100-mile walk.  For this reason the majority of places are reserved for LDWA Members who wish to walk the event.  A proportion of places will be open for non-LDWA members/runners.
