Inverness Orienteering Club welcomes you to Cnoc a' Bhreacaidh, an open hillside by Dingwall.

With few trees or undergrowth, Cnoc a' Bhreacaich gives good running with some areas of intricate contour detail and fantastic views. There is normally livestock (cattle and sheep) on the hill, so no dogs are allowed on the course.

located at the Green Shed behind Tulloch Castle Hotel. Grid reference: NH546603; What3Words: ///fork.sparks.brotherly. 
Collect Yellow maps and dibbers from Registration, they will not be at the start.

Starts: 11:00-12:00   
NOTE: The Start is about 2km and 165m climb from Registration (about 40mins walk), with one stile en-route.
Please start early enough to ensure that you can comfortably finish before courses close taking into account ~2km/~165m climb to start. If you think you may be out for more than 2 hrs then be sure to start commensurately before 11:30 hours.

Parking: See the full event details. Strictly no parking at Tulloch Castle Hotel.

Toilets: Nearest toilets are located at Tesco Mart Road, Dingwall, IV15 9PP.

Nearest A&E Dept: Raigmore Hospital, Old Perth Road, Inverness IV2 3UJ. Note: Dingwall minor injuries unit at the Ross Memorial Hospital is closed at the weekend.

Safety:

  • Cnoc a Bhreacaich is exposed so dress appropriately for the weather. Full leg cover is required. In the event of bad weather cagoules may be made compulsory, participants will be notified if this is the case.
  • Competitors MUST carry a whistle.  Six short blasts indicate a competitor in trouble and anyone hearing this is asked to help.
  • No dogs are allowed on the courses.
  • Courses are not suitable for buggies. 
  • Any competitor with a high-risk medical condition, please notify the organiser either in advance via email or on the day at enquiries.
  • Care needs to be taken due to possible patches of ice and to avoid frozen water.
