Craig Dunain Hill Race is hosting the 2026 North District Hill Running Championships
Please note there is a new race route for 2026
The route is shorter but just as hilly and hopefully more fun!
Distance: 7km
Climb: 400m
Event day timings-
Registration from 12:00
Briefing: 13:50
Start Time: 14.00
Parking: Great Glen House, Leachkin Road, IV3 8NW. What3words: easy.energetic.bars
Registration: At the Leachkin Guides Hall, around 200m back down Leachkin Road from the car park. What3words: adjust.paused.tunes
Race start is around 500m from the Guides hall, at the roundabout just off Forester's Way. Briefing will take place at the start. What3words: gazed.guides.lifts
Refreshments will be available at the hall post-race. Please remember to bring your own mug!
Prize giving at approx 15:30-16.00.

The Race starts near the roundabout on Foresters Way. Approximately 500m from Great Glen House.
Marked course, mainly on good tracks.
Be prepared to carry full waterproof body cover, hat, gloves, whistle, compass and map.

Toilets are available at the Leachkin Guides Hall, but no there are no changing facilities.
Junior Race
- Age categories - U16, U14, U12, open and female categories for each age group.
- U16s born in 2011/2012. U14s born in 2013/2014. U12s born in 2015/2016 (must be 10 years minimum on the day)
- Race distance U12 - approx 2.5km, with approx 120m climb.
- Race distance U14/U16 - approx 4km, 200m climb
- Start is the same location as for the senior race, around 500m from registration. Start at 2.05pm.
- Registration and parking etc as for senior race at Leachkin Guides Hall.
- Route will be marked and marshalled.
