Cawston and Marsham Heaths is a 116.7-hectare (288-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest North of Norwich, Norfolk. The heaths are dominated by heather and regenerated gorse (which courses will avoid), with a large conifer plantation to the North (where all courses are based) and some areas of deciduous woodland along the boundaries (visited only by the Blue course). While most of the area is largely flat, the Northern edge contains some contour detail. There are a couple of deep, water filled pits that participants should be aware of and avoid. The area is popular with dog walkers and horse riders using the bridle path that cuts through the centre of the competition area.

Punching Start & Finish. Other controls are enabled for contactless SIAC use. Should the control not respond to a contactless ‘punch’ it is the competitor’s responsibility to undertake a manual ‘punch’.
Car Parking, Registration, Start/Finish
Parking is on heathland after driving down an uneven track. Not suitable for high vehicles, minibuses or campervans due to 2m height restriction. Please follow directions of parking attendants.

Starts: 1030 to 1215 (no allocated start times)

Facilities: There are no toilets at the event. Closest toilets are in Aylsham (Market Place, NR11 6EL 7am to 7pm or Tesco NR11 6BW 10am to 4pm)
Please be respectful of the rights of other users of the forest and give way if necessary, especially to horse riders.
Dogs: Dogs welcome, but please keep on lead at all times; large numbers of other dog walkers use the area - be aware of this, especially if young or nervous persons.
