This event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and is run under UK Athletics rules.

This is a hard winter race.  Let's just get that out of the way before you read any further.  You will have to prepare physically and mentally for the big day.  In return, if you complete it, it'll be the experience of a life time.  Only enter this event if you have ultra-running experience and are well aware of how to deal with winter conditions.

Cold Brew Events in partnership with SCOTT Sports® bring you a true challenge. This 55-mile (ish) winter ultra-run will test all your abilities as both your mind and body are placed under stress in this unforgiving environment.

Supported by our event team you will traverse a loop of the largest hills in the border region. This is a time when most livestock are brought off the tops and only the hardy feral Cheviot goat is left to fend for itself. Please note that due to the variables involved on the course, we often can’t confirm the final route until a few days before the event.

Every runner gets a GPS tracker for us to monitor progress and you've got 24 hours to get to the finish.  The outright winner receives the Edwin Nelson Cup.  Prizes for top finishers and a t-shirt and medal for all taking part. Once you've signed up, we'll send you a confirmation email.

Camping is available on the field next to Event HQ. The cost is £30 per tent/van. Parking is £10 per car.

If you want to know more about the race and the experience then read our reviews on Facebook or just do a search for videos or race reports and judge people’s feedback for yourself.

Please be aware that under NO circumstances are refunds or deferrals available and you cannot substitute your entry so please make sure you are available to run before entering. This is non-negotiable due to the huge workload and costs attached to making this event as safe as possible in this extreme wilderness.

The race is scheduled to start Saturday at 06:00. If extreme weather makes the course unsafe, the race start may be delayed by up to 24 hours until conditions improve. Please arrange your accommodation and travel plans to accommodate a potential start time as late as Sunday at 06:00.

Please also ensure you read the event terms and conditions before entering - https://coldbrew.events/terms-conditions/
