Discover Ball Grove Park, a brand-new area for orienteering! This fresh venue offers a great mix of terrain and features that will appeal to all levels of competitors.
The competition area lies between the A6068 (Colne–Cross Hills road) and the River Colne Water – both strictly out of bounds for safety. Within the mapped area, you’ll find:
- A well-connected path network for fast route choices
- A patchwork of woodland, parkland, and rough open land
- Two scenic lakes and areas of marshland (some best avoided!)
- Woodland that is mostly runnable, with occasional thickets and low brambles for added navigational interest
For those wanting a less technical course but a longer run, the Red Course is ideal. It’s designed for runners who prefer a physical challenge without the complexity of advanced navigation, perfect for those looking to stretch their legs and enjoy the park’s varied terrain.
