Welcome to this year's series of 3 Turkey Race events - three fun and social events after Christmas, bring the family, have some fun and run off the seasonal food ! Each event will have a Long course, a Short course and easier courses for newcomers and Juniors. Lowick Common also has an Orange, Yellow and White courses.
Unsure which course to enter? The longer courses (Long and Short) will be technical courses designed for more experienced orienteers. The White course is the easiest at this event, suitable for our younger juniors, the Yellow course is more suitable for beginners and older children. The Orange course is a bit harder and will tempt you off the beaten track slightly.
For this event, the path network has been updated on the map and areas shown where bracken has been crushed/removed, making it more runnable.
We encourage running in pairs or groups – it is a good way to start orienteering. To do this, enter the event using one person’s name, and please add the names of everyone accompanying in the ‘Additional names and ages’ box. You can also request extra maps, if required.
