The Winter Wirral Ultra is suitable for both road and trail runners, and the 12 hour cutoff means it's also suitable for walkers. There is a lot of hard terrain so it may not be suitable for those who are strictly only trail runners.
There is just 812 ft of elevation over the 36 mile route - our flattest ultra on offer!
The circular route starts and ends at Hooton Memorial Hall, on the Wirral Way. The route follows the well sign-posted Wirral Circular Trail in an anticlockwise direction, and takes in the beauty of the Wirral Peninsula coast before following the Wirral Way for the last 12 miles. Although the trail is already well-signposted, we add some additional signs. The event is for this reason partially self-navigational.
There are 5 checkpoints along the route, offering water and snacks.
Entrance fee includes a finishers medal, drinks and snacks, and a GPS tracker so friends and family can follow your progress on Open Tracking. Optional finishers t-shirt can be added for £10.
Limited to 430 participants.
Trophies for 1st male, female, and non-binary, and 1st male and female 50, 60 & 70 categories.
