We aim to welcome our new Somerset members and to provide old & new members with the chance to qualify for the 2027 LDWA Jurassic hundred at a local event. We want to showcase our area for those from further afield too.
This 51 mile event will bemade up from two loops with each starting and finishing in Crowcombe Village Hall. One loop will head towards the Brendon Hills and the other onto the Quantocks, showcasing West Somerset in its autumn colours.
There is an 08:30 start for walkers and 10:30 for runners and faster walkers. Please note that checkpoint closing AND opening times will be strictly enforced. The 08:30 start time has a maximum speed of 4 miles per hour, so those expecting to go faster than this, particularly for the first few miles, should opt for the later start, or risk waiting at a checkpoint for it to open.
As this is an autumn event with reduced daylight, more remote trails and significant ascent of around 8000ft, participants will need to have completed at least a 30 mile, one day event within 12 months of the event date before entering. Participants are also required to wear a live tracker throughout the event to improve safety.
The mandatory kit is listed in the event rules and on the event page of the Cornwall and Devon LDWA website . You will be asked to sign a declaration at registration that you are carrying everything on the list. There will be a kit check on the route and anyone not in possession of all items (carrying or wearing) will be disqualified.
Parking is limited so we request entrants lift share wherever possible.
Full route description and GPX will be provided for download two weeks before the event.
Participants must be 18+.
