Country Park with a mix of mature woodland and open fields surrounding Talkin Tarn, near to Brampton. Newcomers very welcome with the Beginner course created for this purpose. Talkin Tarn is not especially technical and participants will never be far from paths or the tarn itself so it is a good place to try out orienteering.

Short (technical) 3.4km
Beginner (very short) 1.3km
Groups and Pairs / Extra Maps
If you are new to orienteering and would like to go round as a group or in a pair, just enter one person and use the option to select any additional maps that your group would like at £1 each.
Coaching / New to Orienteering
There is no coaching at this event. However, if you are new to orienteering we will have someone available at enquiries who can explain what to expect.
Dibber Hire
Available by pre-order at no charge, £30 if not returned. To pre-order, leave the SI number blank during entry process, and then collect dibber from Enquiries/Download on the day.
Start and Finish
Start between 11:00 and 12:30. Start and finish should be close to enquiries/download. Courses close 14:00.
Facilities
Toilets, Cafe in the park, Assembly inside building. Please note that parking at Talkin Tarn does cost (see event details for further information on this).

Well behaved dogs on leads.
Entry Cancellation / Change
If you are unable to make the event please let us know via the email address. If we are informed by the closing date we will provide a refund less £1 per person to cover admin costs. Before the closing date you can change your course by editing your entry online, but there will be very limited opportunity to change course on the day as maps will have been printed based on pre-entries.
