Mountain Bike Orienteering is suitable for all abilities & ages from 12 – 112, as long as you can ride a bike off-road & know the basics of reading an OS map you will have a great time. They are run all over the UK but, if you like to ride in South Wales, Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons), Black Mountains, Wye Valley & the Forest of Dean you have come to the right place. You can be as competitive as you like & even take the kids with you as a Generation Team.
If you don't have a Map board you can borrow a 30x30 Correx board & clips for the day, please ask a registration when you arrive.
Post ride there will be hot & cold refreshments for all competitors in the hall.
Full details about the specific event & a preview map will be sent out to all those on the mailing list two weeks prior to the event & then again a day or two before the ride. To join the mailing list please click HERE
On the start-line you will be given a fully marked waterproof OS map of the course area. You then need to plan a route to ride to as many checkpoints as you can & get back to base as close to the 3 hour time limit as possible.

To participate you will need the MapRun App on your Android or iPhone, or a Garmin Watch with the MapRunG App, or any GPS watch. The event ID will be sent out the day before the ride & the PIN code issued at the start. It's important not to enter the PIN code until you are ready to go as your time will start as as soon as you do so.
