Morson Salford Triathlon & Aquabike

Our draft legal event offers athletes of all abilities top class racing on fast, flat courses around the bustling MediaCityUK, Salford Quays. With distances ranging from sprint to standard including relays, we've something for every regular superhero.

EVENT FEATURES: Swim in the World-Class Dock 9. Bike on a fast, flat multi-lap course. Run around landmarks like the Lowry Theatre and Imperial War Museum North.

• Wave One:  08:00  (Sub 30min swimmers)

• Wave Four:  09:10  (40+min - Relays / Standard Aquabike)

• Wave Five:  09:30  (Sub 15min)

• Wave Seven:  10:10  (15+min / Sprint Aquabike)

Swim Caps / Race numbers: Will be provided at registration on the day. Race belts are permitted.  

Wetsuits Optional.

Competitor Info: Ensure that you've got all the necessary clothing, refreshments and nutrition to last for the duration of the event which can take anything from 2.5-4.5 hours to complete. A tried and tested bike, wetsuit and goggles will help considerably. Carry a mobile phone is you feel you need the reassurance of being able to contact race organisers whilst out on the course.

Bikes:

THE BIKE (DRAFT- LEGAL) This is held on a flat, anti-clockwise laps on quiet open roads around MediaCityUK and the wider Salford and Trafford areas.

Standard - 6 laps = 41.6km. Sprint - 3 laps = 20.8km

Observe the highway code in this section and respect other road users. Ensure your bike is road worthy and tried, tested on race day.  Endurance Hub will be available on the day to conduct a basic bike check and essential maintenance (plus sales) 

Be Self Sufficient: Whilst there are mobile bike marshals out on the course to provide basic assistance competitors are encouraged to carry a basic repair kit including pump, spare inner tube. 

Pick ups out on the bike course will be available for emergencies only.

Lights: Although recommended front and rear bike lights are optional.
