A summer trail race in North Derbyshire on the edge of the Peak District, the Cordwell Colossus is a lovely loop of challenging goodness. It takes in the beautiful trails, paths and woodlands of the Cordwell Valley with a little jink over into the neighbouring Linacre Valley for good measure. The route is just over 20 miles and the views from the high ground are terrific. Route conditions range from highly runnable trails and lanes to more involving single track and trods.
The route is largely unmarked although we do mark out a couple of the trickier navigation sections. We provide route notes and gpx files for you to download. Additionally you may wish to bring your own paper map as back up and to aid with navigation.
