This is an urban orienteering race around the streets of Wantage.  Wantage is an historic market town some 15km/9 miles south-west of Abingdon, 23km/14 miles south-west of Oxford and 25km/15 miles north-west of Newbury.

For those new to orienteering, urban races are a great introduction to the sport -  the navigation is less demanding than for forest events.  Even so, the streets of Wantage will provide plenty of challenges to keep you on your toes.  Runners in particular should find urban orienteering an enjoyable challenge.

Entry is by class.  To be competitive in the South of England Orienteering Urban League (SEOUL), enter your age class as shown (or run up). If you’re not interested in this league, then ignore the Class details! Just enter whatever length of course you fancy, by entering Course X Other.  If you have been to our some of our Saturday Series events, you will find an urban race like this no more difficult than an Orange standard course.  So if you can do an Orange then just choose the length of course you prefer.

Note though that unaccompanied under 16s must run only course 7 (MJ / WJ) or course 8 (MYJ / WYJ). Course 8 uses pavements in a residential area and crosses some small culs-de-sacs. Course 7 crosses some quiet residential roads with low-speed traffic.

Lengths are the shortest feasible distance, and are estimates subject to final controlling.  Climb is negligible on all courses.
