The Esk Valley Way Ultra race start and registration will be held at Castleton cricket pitch (Subject to no home fixtures). Race starts at 0800 and the cut off is 22:00 giving 14 hours to complete the race. This is a fully tracked race and Open trackers will be supplied.
This race follows the official Esk Valley Way, a stunning long distance footpath across the North York Moors. Starting in Castleton, runners will trace the River Esk from its upland origins to the sea, passing through Danby Dale, Rosedale Head, Blakey Ridge, and the remains of Esklets, a medieval sheep farm.
The route continues through Westerdale, Danby, Lealholm, Glaisdale, Egton Bridge, and Grosmont before finishing at Whitby Harbour beneath the iconic Abbey ruins. It’s a journey through Yorkshire’s wildest beauty.... from source to sea!

Coach pickup 06:30 - the coach will take runners (who have booked a place on the coach) from the Race Finish in Whitby to the race start (Castleton) BEFORE the event.

Train: The Esk valley trainline can be used to return for vehicles if competitors want to leave their cars at the start line. Train times are available online and on the MindOverMoors website

- The route follows all the villages on the Esk Valley train line so there is an option to catch the train back to the start or to the finish if the need occurred.
