Little sibling of the Bowland Ultra!
A fun unmarked mixed course; some parts fast and runnable on vehicle tracks, some parts flowing trails, some parts road, some parts boggy slog fest climbs, all parts fun- like the Ultra but around half marathon distance! Runners will be following a written route description, and be provided with a map. There will be marshals at key points keeping you safe and directing you, but not at every junction.
And all for a good cause- raising money for local foodbanks!
This event is in the north in January, and although we might get a lovely sunny day please be prepared for interesting conditions. These conditions can include rain from all angles at once, ice and snow, high winds and frost conditions. There is a mandatory kit list for your safety!
Race start 1000hrs, Saturday 10th January.
Race registration is open on Saturday from 0815-0930hrs. Please note you cannot register for the half before the Ultra sets off- we're going to be busy!
There is a mandatory race briefing at 0945hrs in the village hall.
The route is a unmarked course covering a wonderful mix of shooting tracks, techy singletrack, road and sections of bog. GPX route file available on race website and sent in final race email.
Starting and finishing at Slaidburn, gateway to the Forest of Bowland, the (roughly) 13 mile route with 2,000 feet of ascent will challenge and excite runners of all calibres. Runners will recieve a finish line meal and a momento for their efforts, and with help out on the course to make sure you can enjoy your day out.
Refunds and transfers are possible until 1st November (minus admin fees), and refunds until 1st December minus 50%. From 1st December no refunds but owe allow transfers to another runner (also with admin fees attached). From January 1st no changes to the entry list can be made.
We advise runners to take out the race insurance provided by a third party company when entering via SiEntries and refunds can be claimed (should you meet the outlined criteria) direct from XCover insurance.
