Start the Christmas period with this popular walk or run around the moors of Hebden Bridge, which is always a sell out!
Price includes:
- Fully supported event with well stocked checkpoints, including the legendary Jumble Hole, often cited as "The best checkpoint ever".
- Tracking supplied by OpenTracking (of dotwatching fame!) and live results.
- Tea, coffee and toast at the start.
- Pie and peas at the finish, and additional sweet Christmassy treats.
- Changing room and shower facilities at the club house.
- Club house bar open from early afternoon.
- Bran tub stuffed full of Christmas presents, and chance to win a raffle prize.
A 21-mile circular route, starting and finishing at Hebden Bridge Golf Club. The anti-clockwise route takes you over Midgley Moor, Wadsworth Moor, Heptonstall Moor, Erringden Moor and finally the big climb out of the valley back to the Golf Club.
It's Christmas so essential kit must include a Santa Hat and also a present to hand in (worth no more than £5) for the Bran Tub afterwards.
Participants can look forward to a hot meal afterwards and there are changing rooms with showers available.
As it's winter, all participants MUST carry the following equipment.....
- Santa Hat!
- Present for the Bran Tub (Max £5 to be handed in at registration)
- Waterproofs (top and bottoms) with taped seams and jacket must have a hood
- Hat and gloves
- Map, compass & whistle
- Plastic mug for hot drinks on route (optional)
- Spare long sleeve top
- Spare food and drink
- Survival bag
- Headtorch
Distance - 21 miles with 3900ft of ascent
Venue - Hebden Bridge Golf Course, Great Mount, Wadsworth, Hebden Bridge, HX7 8PH
Start Time - 8am walkers & Non-competitive runners; 9am race start.
GPS devices are allowed as a safety backup but note that the route is not flagged and so will require navigational skills. Participants must follow the route description due to access issues over the moors and visit all the checkpoints in the correct order. GPX file is available on the website. Final details for the event will be sent via email the week before the event.
Age limit for the race is 18.
Dogs are allowed on the early start only but must remain on a lead at all times.
