She Who Walks: Evening Walk, Kirby Hill

A beginner level hike on rights of way around Kirby Hill aimed at encouraging increased female participation in walking. Starting from the Shoulder of Mutton in Kirby Hill, we will follow rights of way to the village of Gayles taking in stunning views. From Gayles, we cross fields to Ravensworth before completing our circular route in Kirby Hill. There is some ascent in this walk (600ft) but we will take our time!
As this is an evening walk, there is an optional visit to the pub after for drinks/food.
Please note this is a FEMALE ONLY event.
Highlights include:
- Lead by a qualified Hill and Moorland Leader
- Small group of 12 max
- Optional pub visit after the walk
Start: 6pm meet for a 6.15pm start
You must be 18+ to enter this event.
You will need:
- Walking boots/shoes and thick socks
- Warm clothing. Jeans should be avoided. A warm base layer and a fleece mid layer is recommended
- Waterproof jacket.
- Gloves and hat
- Spare top layer in your pack
- Snacks and drinks in an easy to find section of your bag. We recommend bringing at least 500ml of drinks with you
- Fully charged mobile phone
- Any personal medication needed
- A comfortable back pack to carry your own kit. You may wish to consider putting things inside a plastic bag or other waterproof bag inside your back pack
- Money if you wish to visit the café after the walk
